"Works with zero followers"
Verdict: internally coherent, and free to test. The claim survives a reading of the method, which is more than most no-audience-needed claims manage. Whether it works in your hands is a separate question with a free answer.
Why the claim is coherent
The method does not distribute through your followers. It asks for comments, and comments are the signal that gets a post shown to people who do not follow you. So the mechanism it depends on is the one that operates independently of audience size.
Compare that with a claim like "no audience needed" attached to an email-based method, where the audience plainly is the machine. Here the structure matches the claim.
Where the claim gets stretched
"Zero followers" and "zero effort to get seen" are not the same statement, and the second one is not being made. Distribution still has to be earned post by post, and a post nobody engages with reaches nobody regardless of follower count.
What the claim really says is that the starting line is the same for everyone. That is different from the finish line being close.

Neither column is free of risk. The comment-led one front-loads the feedback, which is the actual argument for it.
How to test it for nothing
Post three times over a fortnight asking for a one-word reply and count the replies. That is the claim, tested, on your own account, at no cost. Any answer you get is worth more than this page.
The verdict
The claim holds structurally and is cheap to verify. Treat "zero followers" as "audience size is not the gate", which is what the method actually supports.
